Dog Training Programs
Puppy Head Start
Get your puppy off to a good start by developing good house manners. This 5-week course for your puppies includes: socialization, bite inhibition, focuses on positive reinforcement. This pre-start training includes commands such as: sit, down, up, recall, and focus.
*It is recommended to take this class before Basic Puppy 101 or simultaneously.
PREREQUISITE: None
AGE: 8-12 weeks old when starting Puppy Preschool. Enjoy puppy play even if your puppy is younger than 8 weeks.
VACCINE: First DHLPP or DHPP vaccine (specially Distemper and Parvo) at least 5 days before the first session.
Good Handling Manners
Every dog owner will benefit from good leash handling. This 5-week course offers the opportunity for dog owners to learn handling techniques for preparation of walks, pre-veterinary visits, long trips, unfamiliar triggers and distractions. Emphasis is spent also reinforcing basic and intermediate commands.
Basic Puppy 101
This 5 week course for graduates of Puppy Head Start places emphasis on both verbal and hand commands and special focus on recall and focus cue.
Training will introduce a variety of distractions for socialization and using these skills with off leash behavior. This course is designed to be the next in series following Puppy Head Start. Training will emphasize shaping your puppies behavior.
PREREQUISITE: Puppy Head Start
AGE: 10-18 weeks of age at the start date of class.
VACCINE: First two rounds of DHLPP or DHPP. The second round must have been administered after 8 weeks of age, but at least 7 days prior to the first session of class.
Beginning Dog
This 5 week course is designed for puppies over 5 month old or adult dogs that have had no previous training. Emphasis will be introducing good manners, socialization and re-learning basic commands. The goal of this training is to focus on improving dog guardian/canine communication and shaping current observable behavior.
PREREQUISITE: None
AGE: 5 months+
VACCINE: First two rounds of DHLPP or DHPP. The second round must have been administered after 8 weeks of age, but at least 7 days prior to the first session of class. For adult dogs, all rounds of DHLP or DHPP.
Behavior Problem Prevention
This 5 week course addresses: biting, barking, jumping, bolting, counter surfing, house soiling, digging and others. Dog owners learn to reinforce pack leadership and how to prevent problems.
PREREQUISITE: Beginning Dog and/or Basic Puppy 101
AGE: Dogs 14 weeks+ and who have graduated from Puppy Head Start or Beginning Dog.
VACCINE: Rabies vaccine or up-to-date vaccination is required.
Advance Dog Training
Mature and previously trained dogs benefit from this active on-leash and off-leash verbal and hand command course. In this 5-week course trainers specialize in a variety of commands plus reinforcing socialization, focus, active play, potential for agility and off leash hand commands. Custom dog programs may incorporate some features of this training course.
PREREQUISITE: Beginning Dog and/or Basic Puppy 101
AGE: Dogs 1 Year
VACCINE: Rabies vaccine or up-to-date vaccination is required.
